Audition Announcement For

The Hounds of the Baskervilles [Wright/Pichette] is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

The play will be performed as a live radio drama, with scripts in hand and live sound effects. No memorization needed. We are looking for actors with great voices and good with accents. Everyone will be portraying more than one character. You don't need to LOOK the part, you need to SOUND like the part. Roles for 2 women and 4-7 men and one foley (sound effects) artist of either gender. Auditions will be cold readings from script. Everyone will be asked to do their best angry dog noise impression as well. Please contact the director at sharingj@juno.com with questions or if you cannot make the scheduled audition time.

Auditions will be held:
Monday, January 23 and
Tuesday, January 24 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm
at the American Legion, 11 Main Street, Parkville, MO
 
Rehearsals will be 3 weekday nights and Saturday mornings during the month of February in Parkville, Missouri and also Mission, Kansas.

Tech week is February 25-March 2.

Performances are:
March 3, 4, 10, 11 at 7:30 pm
and
March 5 and 12 at 2 pm.

Roles include:
 
Sherlock Holmes - arrogant, brilliant detective
Dr. John Watson - sympathetic doctor
Sir Henry Baskerville - earnest young cowboy from Canada
Beryl Stapleton - young wife tormented by otherworldly visions
Jack Stapleton - likely young naturalist
Mrs. Hudson/Mrs. Barrymore - older women, clever maid of Holmes/ rural cook of the Baskervilles
Barrymore - sinister butler of the Baskervilles
Frankland - stuffy Lord of a nearby manor
Foley artist - man or woman with a great sense of rhythm and musicality to perform the sound effects with props during performances. Ability to play an instrument a plus. No lines, but may perform some noises vocally.
